Julian Rittenhouse is a pastor in Pocahontas County, WV and a fulltime middle school teacher. He enjoys leading three growing churches, being involved in his local community, and lending a caring ear through pastoral counseling. He has a special interest in team bi-vocational ministry as a model for the growth of the church.
Julian was born in Ecuador, while his parents were serving as Church of the Brethren Missionaries there in the 1960’s. After this calling to missionary service, the family returned to Pocahontas County WV where his dad served as pastor of the then 6 meetinghouses in the Pocahontas Churches of the Brethren in the Shenandoah District. Julian was educated in the public schools of Pocahontas County, and earned a Bachelors’ Degree at Bridgewater College, and later earned an advanced theological degree from Eastern Mennonite Seminary.
He serves in ministry as one of several ministers among the three meetinghouses of the Pocahontas Churches of the Brethren. He has been teaching fifth grade in the Pocahontas County Public School System for over twenty years.
Julian is also active and has served in leadership beyond the local congregation. He and his wife Lucy live in Green Bank WV, are the parents of three adult sons.
